Hats Off to Times of India

I am not interested in viewing the political news after the election results. So I changed the news channels one by one to see any important news other than politics is going on. I changed my channel to Times Of India where the reporters are talking seriously in the topic "Death of merit". It seemed quite interesting and shocking so I sticked to that channel.

Times of India reporters went to various colleges as students and parents and they gathered how much capitation fees they are asking for a medical seat in their college. And the great thing here is they have shooted the conversations which is the credible proof for their news. Even if a person is doing a crime before thousands of people, he can escape from the punishment. Thats the credibility of Indian police and courts.

They had shown many colleges, Balaji Medical College (which asked Fourty Lakh Rupees for a seat), Ramachandra Medical College(which asked fifty Lakh rupees for a seat)and few colleges from other states of India. I dont remember those names.
Let me stick in to our state. Minister of State, Jagatrachagan (From DMK) is the Chairman of Balaji Medical College,Bharath University and Jerusalem Engineering College. Everybody from Tamil Nadu know this information. When one of the reporters from Times of India asked Jagatrachagan about this incident, he became tensed and shocked. I too got shocked after hearing his beautiful response.

"I was once a trustee of this college. Before election, I came out from that post. Now I dont have any connection with that college. No one in my family has got connection with that college. We have been running this college for twenty five years. We never got any capitation fees in these twenty five years. The college has thousands of employees. If someone asking money in his own interest, how can I know or how can I take responsibility for that" is the Minister's answer.

After this, they telecasted a clip in which there was a big board before the Minister's home. The board has a big list of colleges and his name with the designation of Chairman. They had shown Balaji Medical college web site. In the home page it mentioned Jagatrachagan is the Chairman of the college. The matter became a serious issue and the HRD Minister Kapil Sipil said the ministry had sent a notice to those colleges which got caught in the camera of Times of India.

The colleges should reply within ten days mentioning the details for "Why should the government not take any action against your college". Only if the government is strong and straightforward in this concern, we can see the justice. Lets wait and watch what drama is going to happen in this matter.
